The Attractions of Jabalpur – City of Lakes

Jabalpur is one of the largest cities of Madhya Pradesh in India. It is also the administrative and educational center, which has recognition throughout the country. The name of Jabalpur is derived from the Arabic “Jabal” which means “mountain”, showing a link between trade with Arab countries.

There are many wildlife sanctuaries that are located near the city and attract a large crowd from across the globe. The city is also called the city of lakes in the presence of a large number of organizations. Local residents said they were very proud “mein Taalon Taal, Taal Jabalpur ke”. Taal Lake in means in Hindi and are very proud that are 52 lakes in their city. The Narmada river flows through the city and gives it more attractive.

The city has an incomparable natural beauty is surrounded by rocky hills of granite and sandstone. The city is located on the main line of Indian Railways and is well connected to all major cities.

Jabalpur Highlights:
Madan Mahal Fort was built by the Gond ruler, Raja Madan Shah, in 1116. It is situated atop a hill with a panoramic view of the city and the adjacent country. It rises to a height of 500 meters above the ground and was once the palace of Raja Madan Shah pleasure, the son of Rani Durgavati.

But the queen had Durgavati used as a watchtower and architectural design rooms overlooking the main building were probably used to house military troops of the kings who lived there.

Balancing Rocks is one of the wonders of nature and is located near the Taj Fort Madan. It has a balanced rock, the other with a space just a human finger in the meantime. This monolith has also survived an earthquake in the city and did not even stir from his seat.

Durgavati Rani Palace and Museum is dedicated to the Queen of Jabalpur brave heart who gave a strong fight against the Mughals under Akbar’s reign. He gave his life trying to save his city to be captured. The museum displays a collection of inscriptions, relics and other objects.

Marble Rocks is one of the most beautiful gifts of nature to mankind. The rocks are pure white in the throat and up to a height of 100 meters on both sides of the river Narmada flows gently. The sun is shining and the reflection that follows is one of the most dazzling the world. They live in a village called Bhedaghat which is 21 miles west of the city of Jabalpur. The most convenient way to enjoy this show is to go by boat and riding in the river when the water is a little less. ”

Dhuandhar literally means “waterfall mist” in Hindi. It is a picturesque waterfall near Bhedaghat fog. It is also one of the most beautiful and picturesque. The Narmada River water down the drain deep and the sound can be heard for miles around the waterfall. During the rainy season in full swing and it is dangerous to approach. The best season to visit the place is during the summers and winters.
